The Cheney High School boys basketball team ended 2016 with a four-game winning streak, including a pair of blowout wins at West Valley’s Eagle Classic tournament.
The Blackhawks opened the streak with a 64-54 win over Lakeland of Idaho’s 4A Inland Empire League on Dec. 20. Cheney rushed to a 33-19 halftime lead, and withstood a fourth-quarter rally by the visiting Eagles for the win.
Jaylen Worthem led Cheney with 19 points, while Devin Cook added 18 and Cameron Hardt nine. Cook also had six assists and four rebounds.
