The Cheney High gymnastics team wrapped up the 2016 portion of their schedule with a third-place finish (134.295 points) at a Greater Spokane League meet held at Ferris High School, Dec. 14. Central Valley won the event with 153.075 points.
Junior Alexis Miller took third in all-around competition with 32.9 points, finishing behind Ferris’ Jessica Harpel (35.675) and Shadle Park’s Brooklynn Tarr (35.275). Miller also recorded third-place finishes in the uneven bars (8.3) and balance beam (8.6).
No other scores were available as of press time.
The Blackhawks return to action Jan. 4 when they host a meet at the former Mead Middle School against Mead, Mt. Spokane, Rogers and University.
