Washington State Patrol troopers responded to a pair of accidents on Interstate 90 near Medical Lake last Saturday.
At approximately 2:41 a.m., troopers responded to a single-vehicle accident near milepost 265 about five miles south of Medical Lake. According to the State Patrol collision memo, a 2012 Freightliner semi-truck driven by Tilek Sarbashov, 28, was eastbound on I-90 when he lost control of the vehicle in icy conditions, struck the guardrail and then jackknifed in the roadway.
Sarbashov was not injured. The patrol is pursuing charges of negligent driving.
Later in the morning at approximately 10:46 a.m., state troopers responded to a single-car accident near milepost 256 about 15 miles south of Medical Lake.
A 2016 Dodge Journey driven by Jenny Jo Rasmussen, 54, of Enumclaw was westbound when it drifted off the road to the right, went through a fence and sideswiped a tree, coming to rest about 75 feet off the roadway.
Troopers determined Rasmussen had experienced a medical emergency, and she was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center. A passenger in the vehicle, Susan Kathleen MacIntosh, 63, of Seattle was not injured.
