Eastern men host Reese Court tournaments this week

November and December have pretty much been the property of the Eastern Washington University football team for several years on campus.

Basketball will stake its claim for some of that territory this week as while the football team takes the week off with a bye prior to a Dec. 3 playoff game.

After years of playing just periodically at home in the preseason, the Eagles began a span of playing four games in seven days in two separate tournaments.

Upcoming at Reese Court Saturday, Nov. 26 Eastern takes on Denver University and then the University of San Francisco for following night, both tipping at 6:05 p.m.

Eastern opened Monday with a game against touring Rhode Island school, Bryant, and followed that against either the Western Athletic Conference’s Seattle University or the Sun Belt’s Louisiana-Monroe in the conclusion of the Legends Classic.

Eastern (1-2) fell at Northwestern, 86-73 on Nov. 14 and Texas, 85-52, Nov. 17 in the first two games of the multi-week, multi-state showcase event.

Junior Bogdan Bliznyuk scored 25 against Northwestern, then had 22 versus the Longhorns. Senior graduate transfer Jacob Wiley had 29 points in the two games.

Eastern’s women’s team is part of the Sunday schedule, meeting NAIA Multnomah at 3 p.m. prior to the men facing USF.
