Arnold named interim dean of Eastern’s CBPA
In a news release, Scott Gordon, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, announced Dr. Danny Arnold as the interim dean of the College of Business and Public Administration at Eastern Washington University. His appointment is effective immediately and will run through June 30, 2017.
Arnold has been in higher education for more than 40 years and most recently served as chair of the Department of Business at Rollins College in Florida, where he was also the interim dean of the College of Professional Studies.
He has previously served in the role of business dean for Stephen F. Austin State University, Missouri State University, Frostburg State University and New Mexico State University.
Arnold earned his bachelor’s degree, MBA and doctor of business administration at Louisiana Tech University. He replaces Dr. Martine Duchatelet, who will continue serving Eastern as a faculty member in the Economics Department.
A search for a permanent CPBA dean will begin this month.
EWU accepting Toys for Tots donations
The holidays are fast approaching, and Eastern Washington University’s Veterans Resource Center (VRC) is once again partnering with the Marine Corps on the Toys for Tots drive.
The Marines have conducted Toys for Tots campaigns each year since 1947. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 7.
Items can be dropped off at the following locations around campus: Showalter Hall, Senior Hall, Hargreaves Hall, Tawanka Hall, P.E. Classroom Building, Sutton Hall, Martin Hall, JFK Library and the Computer and Engineering Building.
MLHS Robotics to host fundraiser dinner
The Medical Lake High School Robotics team is having a mystery dinner theater titled “Sabotage at Simpson School of the Sciences” in the high school cafeteria on Nov. 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is $20 with an ASB card and $30 without a card. Tickets will be on sale at the Jensen Youth Memorial Ranch at 620 N. Stanley St., on Nov. 11 all day and at Denny’s Harvest Foods Nov. 11 and 18 from 3-6:30 p.m., and. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
