Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 13. You may also watch our pastor’s sermons at our website or on YouTube at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Cheney. Christian education for grade school through adults begins at 9 a.m.

Mark your calendar for the following events. Thanksgiving worship service will be on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. First Sunday of Advent worship is Sunday, Nov. 27 at 10:30 a.m. Advent mid-week begins Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. with a soup supper followed by Holden Evening Prayer at 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books and non-perishable food items gladly accepted. Both ate open to the community 24/7.

Four Lakes Community Church

Four Lakes Community Church is a non-denominational Village Missions Church. We exist to exalt the Lord, to educate and edify the saints and evangelize the lost. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.

Our current sermon series is “Living in Grace in the Promised Land” by pastor Sean Carney. Our worship services combine contemporary choruses and traditional hymns.

Join us for a ladies Bible study every other Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday music practice at 6:30 p.m., Thursday AWANA at 6:30 p.m. and Friday men’s breakfast and Bible study at 7 a.m. The ladies are studying “Daniel” by Beth Moore and the men are studying “Fathered by God” by John Eldredge. We will be packing shoe boxes soon for Operation Christmas Child for Samaritan’s Purse.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Holy Communion is at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

Attention all college students. The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry meets each Monday at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship. Please join us. For more information contact Soule at 844-2553.

Choir practice is every Wednesday at 5 p.m. Come sing with us. Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

United Methodist Church

Worship with us Sunday at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Alissa Bertsch Johnson will be preaching the second in a stewardship sermon series based on John Wesley’s “Simple Rules for Money; Earn, Save, Give.” This week the focus will be on saving. Associate pastor Pat Sleeth will assist with the service.

A multi-age Sunday school class for students in grades kindergarten through fifth-grade starts at 9 a.m. A grief support group is also available at 9 a.m. each Sunday. This week the group will continue wrapping up the book “A Grace Disguised,” by Jerry Sittser.

Many thanks to all who helped with and shopped at our recent holiday bazaar. It was a huge success.
