Hoam D. Burket
Hoam D. Burket, "Grandma Jai," was born May 31, 1948 in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand; passed away Oct. 14, 2016 in Spokane at 68.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Victor H. Burket, in Jan. 2007; her parents Yuri and Dee Duangsanit and older siblings. She is survived by her children: Timi P. (Joseph F.) Kelly of Columbia, Md., Roong R. (Theresa L.) Burket of Airway Heights; Gerry B. (Kirk P.) Long of Medical Lake; Julia J. (Clinton W.) Burket-Maffett of Wheeling, W.V.; grandchildren: James O. Lash III, Kristen R. Lash, Melissa Dixon, Michelle Dixon, Logan J. Burket, Victor K. Long, Vincent "Bear" C. Long, and Alexis Burket.
She was a loving wife, mom and friend to all that knew her. She was an Air Force wife and loved her country and appreciated the sacrifices of those who served. She was a good mom and gave all that she could to her family.
She loved and adored her grandchildren with all of her heart and cherished the time they spent together. She was very loving, intelligent, humorous, stubborn, hardworking and full of life. She stood out any place she went.
She fulfilled her dream of opening Grandma Jai's Excellent Thai and enjoyed the friends she made. She was an exceptional cook and showed her love by cooking for family, friends and her customers. She made the world a better place and everyone around her smile. She loved her family and friends and they loved her back.
Services were held previously with interment at Bethel Brethren Cemetery, Hopewell Township, Penn.
