St. Paul’s Episcopal holds holiday bazaar
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church annual holiday bazaar will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Items available will include baked goods, handmade crafts, collectibles and other gift items.
Local author Rita Seedorf will be present to autograph and sell her latest book, “Wary Watchers,” the sequel to her first book, “Letters from Brackham Wood.”
St. Paul’s is located at 625 C St. in Cheney.
CHS Cross Country annual Turkey Trot registration opens
The Cheney High School Cross Country team’s ninth annual Turkey Trot takes place Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. at the high school. The 2-mile or 3-mile walk/run is for runners and walkers of all ages.
The entry fee is $5 without T-shirt, $20 including long-sleeved T-shirt if registering by Nov. 10. Registration for the race only can be done in person up to 8:30 a.m. on the day of the Trot. Participants receive a ticket for a drawing to win a turkey and other prizes.

Cheney library fall book sale Nov. 5
The Friends of the Cheney Library are hosting their annual fall book sale this Saturday, Nov. 5, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to pick-up interesting materials for gift giving or selections for personal enjoyment during the upcoming winter months.
The library is located in downtown Cheney at 610 First St.
St. John’s Lutheran holds bazaar and rummage sale
St. John’s Lutheran Church’s 2016 bazaar and rummage sale takes place Friday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. (rummage closes at 4 p.m.) and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (rummage closes at 3 p.m.). The church is located at 223 S. Hallett St. in Medical Lake.
There will be baked goods, German potato salad, lefse, sausage, homemade apple cider and crafts. There will also be a raffle for two quilts and an autographed 2001 Mariners’ baseball bat. Tickets are $1 each.
