If the Medical Lake Cardinals were being graded and ranked according to effort on the football field they just might be among the best in their league.
But the reality is, that’s just one element of the game, and following last Friday’s 42-0 loss to Northeast A League-leading Deer Park, the Cards are winless in seven games, and have failed to score in five consecutive outings.
“This was one of our best efforts as a team,” head coach Mo Owen said. “(But) we were overmatched.”
That included a gutsy goal-line stand late in the fourth quarter when it really didn’t matter for anything but pride.
