Medical Lake soccer splits with Newport, Riverside

Medical Lake head soccer coach Zane Higgins insists that the Northeast A League is tough from top to bottom.

And following last week’s split in league play, a 6-2 win at home over Newport, and a 3-2 shootout loss at Riverside, there’s plenty of evidence with which to back that up.

“Every team in this league is tough and they were playing us tough in the first half,” Higgins said.

In fact the Grizzlies, who reside in the basement of the Northeast A League (0-8, 0-9 overall), made the first half pretty miserable for Medical Lake (7-2 NEA, 8-4 overall).
