The Eastern Washington University volleyball team hit .287 on Saturday, Oct. 8, to pick up a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-21) victory over Southern Utah in Big Sky Conference play, completing a sweep of their Homecoming week matches at Reese Court.
The Eagles opened the weekend by stunning defending conference champion Northern Arizona Oct. 6, 3-1 on scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21.
In the opening contest against NAU, Eastern rode the momentum of Ashley Seiler and Ka’iulani Ahuna as each had a match-best 18 kills. Both had a double-double night against the Lumberjacks, as Ahuna rolled off her third-straight with 19 digs to go along with 18 kills. Seiler had 17 digs to earn her second double-double in as many matches.
Eastern had a season-best four player hit .333-or-better in the victory over SUU.
Ahuna put together her most efficient offensive night in an Eastern Washington uniform, as the Hawaiian native hit a career-best .406 en route to her fourth-straight double-double with a match-best 15 kills and 11 digs in the straight-set victory.
Eastern is on the road at Idaho State tonight, Oct. 13 and visits Idaho, Saturday, Oct. 15.
