Eastern Washington University’s Homecoming Week, set for Oct. 2–9, has plenty of activities for students and residents of the community.
But for visitors, particularly parents of EWU students, a new event is in the works for Friday, Oct. 7 with the Cheney Merchant’s Association presenting an information night taking place from 6–8 p.m. in Cheney Holiday Inn Express’s new banquet room.
But it’s not just a sales pitch from CMA members who will be providing information on products and services. In addition, those in attendance will also be able to munch on complimentary hors d’oeuvres and sip both wine and local beer from Cheney’s New Boundary Brewing.
The CMA is still looking for vendors interested in providing food and drink for the night. Those interested should contact the organization’s president, Doug Nixon at (509) 868-4326. The deadline to be part of the food or beverage vending is Friday, Sept. 23.
Businesses interested in displaying and presenting information that evening need to contact Debbie Anderson at the Holiday Inn at (509) 235-1100 by Sunday, Oct. 2. The event is open to CMA members, or to those who wish to join the organization.
An opportunity to connect with Eastern students is Neighbors Day, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Further information on how to show off a business to students and staff is available from Kristin Zitterkopf at the EWU Bookstore, who can be reached at (509) 359-2542 or [email protected].
Paul Delaney can be reached at [email protected].
