Soccer’s Inthoulay earns Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week honors

Eastern Washington University women’s soccer junior midfielder Aimie Inthoulay has been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced, Aug. 30, after a record-setting performance against UC Davis last weekend.

Inthoulay’s Big Sky honor is the first weekly conference award for the Eagles this season. The Seattle native earned the recognition after setting the school record for most assists in a single match with three in last Friday’s, Aug. 26, 3-2 come-from-behind victory over UC Davis in double-overtime.

The midfielder just played 51 minutes in the match, yet was still able to record an assist on all three EWU goals against the Aggies, which included picking up her second game-winning assist of the year on freshman Saige Lyons’ 104th-minute golden goal.

The school-record three assists against UC Davis now gives the junior a Big Sky-leading four helpers on the year.

Nationally, she is tied for fourth in NCAA Division I in assists with 10 other players.
