EWU holds annual community food drive, rummage sale

Eastern Washington University is in the ninth year of its community food drive.

The food drive is accepting monetary and food donations until Aug. 10. The money will be donated to the Cheney Food Bank, Cheney Outreach — for backpacks and school supplies — and the Community in Schools Food Pantries and Clothing Closets.

This year the food drive has already helped collect 64 banana boxes full of food.

EWU is also accepting donations of backpacks and school supplies. Donations can be dropped off at the Rozell Plant reception area at 1111 Cedar St. Last year the food drive supplied Cheney Outreach...
