Mahlon Dale Loomer, beloved husband of Martha (Kingma), passed away peacefully on June 19, 2016, at his home in Issaquah, Wash.
Dale was born May 23, 1924, in Toledo, Ohio, and grew up in Bellingham, Wash. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II, became a pilot, and was deployed to Europe where he served in England and France. He retired from the U. S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel in 1971 and lived on Silver Lake for 41 years.
Over the course of his Air Force career, Dale flew 26 different aircraft, everything from gliders to fighters to bombers. By Dale's side these past 68 years was his beloved wife Martha. They were blessed with three children.
Family was very important to Dale and his extended family recalls that he was always a positive influence in their lives. Dale lived his life with humor, joy, love and gratitude. Two phrases he said frequently that epitomize his life are "I love you" and "I am so blessed."
Dale enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening, as well as traveling, whether across the U.S. in the RV or internationally. He loved people and was active in the Medical Lake Lions Club and Cheney United Methodist Church.
Dale is survived by his wife Martha, his children Lynn (Jerry) Mack of Issaquah; Bob (Cole) of Spokane, and Rich (Lisa) of Folsom, Calif.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
