Fire officials concerned with fireworks, fire conditions
Due to current sensitive fire conditions, local fire officials are urging everyone to use extreme caution with fireworks and campfires during this year’s Fourth of July celebration season. Ongoing conditions have caused grasses and other vegetation to be extremely dry, vulnerable to fire and pose a heightened risk for rapidly developing fires. These conditions and escaped controlled burns have also been part of the defining factor of the Department of Natural Resources’ burn ban.
