Four-Rec youth golf program starts June 17 at Fairways

Fairways men’s golf results
Jeff Day and Zak Sargent took home first place gross honors last week with 38’s in the Fairways Men’s League. John Santillanes also had a 38 but was awarded first net with a 32.
Harrison and Day split the gross skins pot for $29 each and Harrison had a sweeper for the net game, earning $58. Jeff Day swept the deuce pot for $58.

Jois, Hodgins earn Big Sky Scholar Awards for 2015-16
Both Eastern Washington basketball programs were represented on the 2015-16 Big Sky Scholar-Athlete Awards list, as men’s basketball senior Venky Jois and women’s basketball senior Hayley Hodgins each represented EWU for one of the most prestigious honors in the Big Sky.
The pair of basketball standouts put a cap on their illustrious careers this season. Both Jois and Hodgins broke their program’s all-time scoring record during their four-year careers with Eastern. In addition to being named Big Sky Scholar-Athletes, both were honored at last week’s ‘EeeWoos’ for their academic and athletic success.
The Scholar-Athlete Award honors the “best of the best” of the conference’s more than 3,500 student-athletes. One senior male and one senior female from each school in the league are recognized for their athletic and academic achievements.
Jois, a pre-med major, posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.45. The Melbourne, Australia native scored a total of 1,803 points in his career.
For Hodgins, she graduated from EWU in June 2015ty with a health services administration degree, posting a cumulative GPA of 3.74. The Pasco, Wash., native tallied a record-setting 1,865 points in her career, which ranks sixth all-time in Big Sky Conference history. She also set the Eastern women’s basketball record for most three-pointers (243) in a career, and played in a program-best 126 games.
