Eunice Virginia Greener

Celebration of a beautiful life who loved God, family and all people will be Saturday, June 25 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar St., Spokane, Wash.

Eunice was born to Armand Victor Pallviny and Lydia Isaac Pallviny on March 26, 1923 in Leola, S.D. She passed peacefully on Feb. 25, 2016.

She exemplified the love of Jesus throughout her life with kindness, compassion, generosity, hugs, a radiating smile, prayers of praise, thanksgiving and concerns, words of hope and encouragement, and letting others see the beauty of God's creation through her eyes and heart.

Eunice was a loving devoted wife to her husband Walter Jack Greener. They married July 3, 1943, on Staten Island, N.Y. They celebrated their 50th anniversary July 3, 1993 and he died five days later.

Their children were son, George Edward Greener, married to Laurie Moliter (children: Joel, Mindy and Jonathan); daughter Lynn Marie Nereo, married to Phillip Nereo (children: Falcon, Heather, Ayla and David); daughter Lydia Ann Griffith married to Steve Griffith (children: Darcey and Derek) and son, John Walter Greener married to Karen Deuter (children: Victoria and Angela). She had 14 great-grandchildren.

Eunice had two siblings, Harold (Bud) Pallviny and Elaine Pallviny. Preceding her in death were her beloved son George, her sister and her parents.

Eunice graduated from Girls' Polytech in Portland, Ore. She attended college at Spokane Community College and Eastern Washington University. Her employment opportunities have been working at a theater in Portland and as "Rosie the Riveter." She retired after working 25 years in the recreational therapy department at Eastern State Hospital at Medical Lake. She was a deaconess at Liberty Park Baptist Church and over the years sang in many church choirs and with the Joy Singers.

Her hobbies and interests included gardening, of which she had an amazing "greener thumb" for vegetables and flowers. She loved walking and was a finisher in many Bloomsday races. She took part in multiple Bible studies including Bible Study Fellowship International. Eunice loved painting and art projects, reflexology, massage, reading, photography and travel.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane.
