Martinssen tops Leo's in WPLL Triple A action

West Plains Little League Game of the Week

A. Martinssen DDS scored early, often and late in handing Leo's Photography their first loss of the West Plains Little League's AAA season, 15-9, Friday night, April 29. Both teams were tied for second at 4-1 at press time Tuesday.

Martinssen coach Art Vega said Ashton Cobbs pitched three innings in getting the win, striking out four while Jace Vega pitched two innings late, striking out three. Vega was 3 for 4 at the plate, with a double, and leads the team with a .733 batting average. Also collecting hits were Cobbs (double), and Colton Kile (triple).

Leo's Photography coach James Gall said his top hitters were Connor Gall, 3 for 3, Adam Rutland, 2 for 3 and Andrew Roberts, 1 for 3 with a home run. Noah Young pitched 2 2/3 innings of "great" relief ball, striking out four, with Cody Howard and Connor Gall also getting mound time.
