Three animals perished in a fire last Friday morning at this Barker Road home.
Medical Lake fire and emergency crews were busy in the early morning hours of April 15. Prior to discovering fire had consumed the inside of the city's maintenance shop, the Fire Department responded to a house fire at 703 E. Barker Road.
Fire Chief Jason Mayfield said the call came in at 1:45 a.m. Two trucks from Medical Lake and a crew from Airway Heights responded and managed to contain the fire to the interior of the structure.
The occupant of the house escaped with one of his pets, a dog, however two other dogs and a cat perished in the blaze. The occupant was transported to Sacred Heart...
