Dr. Warren F. Heinemann

Dr. Warren F. Heinemann, Ph.D and retired U.S. Army Major passed away the morning of April 2, 2016 in Livermore, Calif. His loving wife Judy, his brothers Robert and Dean, his ex-wife Kathy and his children, Latonda, Edward and Joanne, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive him.

He will be missed by his extended family of in-laws, nephews and cousins, veterans and coworkers, friends and his family in faith.

He was born to Charles Frederick and Wanda Heinemann on March 25, 1947 in Seattle, Wash. and grew up in Cheney as the middle of three active brothers. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and activities with the Boy Scouts of America.

After graduating from Eastern Washington University, he joined the Army and spent the next 20 years serving across the country and the world. After leaving active duty, he relocated to Livermore with his family and continued serving for another 20 years as a government contractor, training reservists and the RTS Med, Camp Parks, Calif.

Warren was baptized and raised in the Methodist Church, accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1960 and always strove to be a presence in the church through his life. He found great joy in serving the community and fellowship at Celebration Christian Center where his presence at the door, greeting everyone with a smile and a story, will be missed.

His family thanks you for your consideration in their time of mourning. A donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action network (www.pancan.org) in his name would be appreciated. He felt strongly that not enough was being done for those impacted by this disease.

A memorial service will be held April 8 in Livermore with burial at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif.
