The Cheney High girls track and field team finished eighth out of 24 teams at the Ray Cross Invitational last Saturday, March 26, in Ephrata, scoring 35 points.
Hannah Spakousky led the Blackhawks on the track, finishing fourth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12 minutes, 5.05 seconds. Abby Hammermeister placed sixth in the 800 in 2:34.54 while Kristie McGourin was seventh in the 400 in 1:04.08, with Brette Draper and Alexis Schmidt eighth and 10th in the 1,600 in 5:56.12 and 6:01.14 respectively.
