Michael James Delaney

Michael James Delaney, age 67, was born Aug. 15, 1948 in Salem Ore. and passed away peacefully in his Cheney, Wash. home on March 22, 2016.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilda Delaney and younger brother Daniel Delaney. He is survived by his loving wife Allison, son Ryan Delaney, daughter Ashley Wickward and step-daughter Kendra Grimes; siblings, Debra Cates, Pat Delaney and Janice Delaney-Hill and grandchildren Lacee, Anson and Delaney.

Mike graduated from North Salem High School in 1966, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, attended Chemeketa Community College and Oregon State University.  He later made Cheney his home. He owned and managed the AAA Inn, a family business that has been an iconic part of Cheney for over 25 years.

He was a great man with an even greater heart. Mike was a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed bike rides, camping, skiing and road trips on his Harley.

His greatest love was spending time with family and friends boating at the lake. If anyone ever needed a helping hand or an ear to bend, Mike would always welcome them to sit by the fire and share their stories. Mike was a rock for so many people. He will be missed to the moon and back.

Mike's celebration of life will be held at Zentropa Pizzeria and Pub (120 College Ave. Cheney) on Saturday, April 2 from 1 -4 p.m. Visit his online guestbook at cheneyfuneral.com
