"Beauty and the Beast" is a musical production that will be shown in the Showalter Auditorium on Eastern Washington University's Cheney campus, March 25- 26, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults.
This enchanting musical is performed by Cheney High School drama students. Set in modern day France, this family-friendly comedy is sure to delight all audiences.
All of the beloved characters are there: Beast, Belle, her father and the prince.
The students have added some of their own characters: three show-stopping witches that cast a curse on the prince, Belle's siblings with antics that will have audiences rolling in the aisles and a haunted castle with all its enchanted servants - just to name a few.
Add to this modern day drama two stranded teenagers, a golden key and a stalker and there are the makings of a captivating evening. Superb costuming and intricately painted sets create a memorable night of entertainment.
This original adaptation, written by playwright Rita Tingley, is sure to amuse young and old.
