Free West Plains Chamber event promotes networking
The West Plains Chamber of Commerce is ramping up its networking efforts for members, presenting the Biz to Biz Expo Wednesday, March 23 at The Pavilion at Northern Quest Resort and Casino.
“It’s a real good way to help our members interact in a way they don’t usually get,” Joe Jackson, the organization’s executive director said.
This stand-alone event, similar to those presented by Greater Spokane Incorporated and others, is geared specifically towards West Plains businesses.
Two years ago the chamber board decided they wanted to make this event a reality and put on something of their own, Jackson said. The expo did not happen in 2015 but this year Jackson made it one of his priorities.
It’s more than just a networking opportunity and being able to do the one-minute commercial with other members at a luncheon table.
“This is an opportunity to show off their business, show off what they do, what value they can bring potential customers” Jackson said.
Admission is free to those attending the show. Booth space for members — which was limited to 35 to begin with and has just a handful remaining — runs $300 for a single and $500 for what Jackson called a “higher-tier” space that includes additional amenities.
Deadline to reserve space is March 18 Jackson said. “Right now we have six booths left so if they would like one they better act fast,” Jackson said.
The WPC recently conducted a similar showcase at one of the organization’s monthly meetings but for various nonprofit organizations.
“It’s very similar but I don’t think these people will be selling desserts,” Jackson joked. At the nonprofit event the groups sold or auctioned off sweet treats in order to raise additional funds.
