That was how long a district championship eluded the 2015 No. 4 top-10 story Cheney High boys tennis team, who capped off a stellar year with a Great Northern League regular season championship.
The team had a mix of varsity veterans and newcomers heading into the 2015 season. Two starting returners in the singles spots were Britton Williams (No. 3 singles), who bounced back-and-forth between singles and doubles in 2014 and Ryan Axtell (No. 2), who played on varsity for a third year.
