S.C.O.P.E. and Crime Prevention Office collecting old cellphones

The Spokane Community Orientated Policing Effort (S.C.O.P.E.) and the Spokane County Crime Prevention Office are collecting old cellphones.

Residents are encouraged to bring their old phones to their local S.C.O.P.E. station or the Crime Prevention Office at the Spokane Valley Mall.

Phones are used to provide a critical link between law enforcement and someone in trouble. By donating their phones, residents help give emergency communication access to residents in their community such as seniors, victims of abuse, or others who may be disabled and do not have a phone.

Every donation supports S.C.O.P.E. and the 911 Cellphone Bank in their efforts to provide 911 phones where they are most needed.

For more information, contact the Crime Prevention Office at (509) 893-3934.
