Cheney commits 49 fouls in losses at Reardan, Freeman

Turnovers and fouls were what kept the Cheney High girls basketball team from posting its first win of the season last weekend. The Lady Blackhawks committed 21 fouls in a 45-36 loss at Reardan on Thursday, and another 18 fouls to go with 31 turnovers in a 60-54 loss Friday at Freeman.

Foul trouble against the 2B classification Indians hampered several players, including sophomore post Kristie McGourin, who Lady Blackhawks head coach JT Johnson said is the team’s “energizer” but was limited in playing time with four fouls.
