This empty spot at the Bi-Mart Arena at the Cheney Rodeo Grounds will have updated and expanded bleacher seating in time for the July 8-10, 2016 rodeo.

In the latest round of upgrades of bleacher seating at the arena, three-quarters of the old wooden southern portion of the northeast seating section will be replaced, Cheney Rodeo spokesman Rick Edwards wrote in an email. This is the fifth year of that program to replace bleachers.
"This effort will replace aging structures with new structures that take less maintenance and add 1,000 seats by 2016, a 28 percent increase," Edwards said.
