Christine Transue is a true 'people person'

I recently spent an evening with a happy group at Tyler Grange. I met Christine Transue, a lovely young mother who knows many people and has friends among those who came to the frolic. I said frolic, an old-fashioned term. You'll get used to it.

Some times the Tyler Grange has an audience of 100 people. This particular evening I saw about 50 people visiting with others, including me. I felt right at home.

Christine Transue and her husband Jason have two sons. Caleb is 13 and likes to wrestle. He's careful to keep his grades up. Christine said, "He is very smart. He loves animals and is always willing to help. Caleb also likes to cook."

Ethan, who is eight years old, enjoys telling jokes. With a smiling face he asks you, "Where does the crocodile keep his money?" The answer? "In the river bank."

Jason and Christine met at Cheney Care Center. They've been married for eight years. As time goes by they are mindful to take care of their families.

Christine had worked four years at Cheney Care Center. She has been a nurse's aid since she was 18. Like her sons, Christine enjoys working with animals.

She is also a painter and crochetes. On "Girl's Day" she gets together with her mother and sister and creates some beauties. Christine paints windows. Her sister makes jewelry. Christine has developed a "giant painting" for the residents of Lakeland Village to have their pictures taken in front of during an open house.

Christine says, "I love singing." She sang with a worship team on Sundays until her work schedule changed. Christine now sings for her residents. She has worked at Lakeland Village for the past eight years.

Christine has a stepfather. She said he is a hard-working man. When he has a project on the farm Christine is willing to help him. He has taught her many things including how to put up a strong fence.

Christine is very much a "People Person." She sends to all of us this Bible verse: First Corinthians 13:13 "These three things shall remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. The greatest of these is Love."

Thank you, Christine. We will see you again.
