Medical Lake Fire Department Halloween open house, Oct. 31
The Medical Lake Fire Department would like to invite all trick-or-treaters to an open house at the station, S. 124 Lefevre St., on Halloween night, Oct. 31, from 5 – 9 p.m. Firefighters will be on hand to check candy bags, provide blood pressure screenings, and teach Hands Only CPR. Goodie bags will be available while they last.
MLHS blood drive, Nov. 4
Inland Northwest Blood Center along with Medical Lake High School volunteers led by Sue Anderson will be coordinating a blood drive Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the high school’s small gym. Donation hours are from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.
Emanuel Lutheran Church holiday bazaar on Nov. 7
Cheney’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church is holding their annual Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
There will be crafts, a White Elephant sale in addition to a large selection of baked goods. Enter the raffle drawing to win a “Christmas Baking Basket,” or a holiday quilt.
Lunch is served from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., after which all White Elephant items go on sale for half price. The raffle drawing takes place at 2:30 p.m.
This is a Thrivent Team Action Project. Emmanuel Lutheran is located at 639 Elm St.
Operation Gratitude drop-off at Emmanuel Lutheran Nov. 11
Cheney’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church is conducting a “Military Appreciation Drive” to put together care packages for servicemen and servicewomen. The drop-off date is Wednesday, Nov. 11 — Veterans Day — from 9 a.m. – noon at the church, 639 Elm St.
Information on what do drop off for the packages can be found at http://www.OperationGratitude.com. All items will be sent to Operation Gratitude, an organization that delivers care packages to U.S. troops.
Bazaar and rummage sale, Nov. 7 at St. John’s in ML
The annual Bazaar and Rummage Sale at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St., Medical Lake, Friday. Nov. 6 and Saturday. Nov. 7 beginning 9 a.m. both days. The rummage sale closes at 4 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday. There will be crafts, baked goods, lefse and apple cider.
Registration open for CHS cross country’s Turkey Trot
The Cheney High School Cross Country Team Booster’s eighth annual Turkey Trot takes place Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. at the high school track. The two-mile or three-mile walk/run is for runners and walkers of all ages.
The entry fee is $5 without T-shirt, $20 including long- or short-sleeved T-shirt if registering by Nov. 10 or in person by 8:30 a.m. day of the trot only. Participants receive a ticket for a drawing to win a turkey and other prizes.
