Barbara Jean Duffy-Cunningham passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash. on Oct. 11, 2015 at the age of 76.
Barbara was born and raised in the Winthrop-Twisp, Wash. area graduating from Winthrop High School. She later moved to Spokane and was married to Michael Cunningham in 1963.
Barbara had many life experiences, including being the owner of the Beehive Restaurant and Lounge in Cheney. She became a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she crocheted many sock slippers and sent Christmas cards to veterans.
Barbara is survived by her six children, John Imes of Morrison, Colo; Nanette Carucci from Seattle, Marie McKenzie of Cheney; Michelle Cunningham and Cheryl Cunningham, both from Spokane as well as Richard Cunningham from Cheney. She is also survived by a brother, Larry Duffy of Fairbanks, Alaska and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Michael.
A potluck memorial gathering is going to be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 116 College Ave. in Cheney.
