Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us this Sunday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. as we celebrate Reformation Sunday. Christian education for grade school through adult meets at 9 a.m.

The holiday bazaar and luncheon is rapidly approaching. Please plan to attend our bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Holy Communion Sunday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside. Fellowship breakfast Thursday at 7:30 a.m. Come, bring a friend and enjoy good fellowship.

The choir meets each Thursday at 6 p.m. for practice. Come sing with us. AA meeting every Saturday at ll a.m. in the parish hall.

Attention all college students: Each Monday evening at 5 p.m. you are invited to join us for dinner, study and devotions.

Looking ahead, we will hold our annual church bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 7, along with several other churches in our community.

For your contemplation: “Around your throne the saints, our brothers and sisters, sing your praise forever. Their glory fills us with joy, and their communion with us in your church gives us inspiration and strength as we hasten on our pilgrimage of faith, eager to meet them. With their great company and all the angels we praise your glory as we cry out with one voice: ‘Holy, holy, holy…” preface for the Feast of All Saints.

United Church of Christ

Pastor David Kruger-Duncan will preside at services at the United Church of Christ (UCC) on Sunday, Oct. 25. Please join us at 10 a.m. for his message. A coffee hour will follow in the fellowship hall.

A social-wellness walking group meets each Thursday at 9 a.m. at the church. All walking levels/paces are welcome. Participants are enjoying the exercise and fellowship.

Men’s breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25, at 7:45 a.m. at the Cheney Care Center Sessions dining room. Join the lunch bunch at noon on Thursday, Nov. 12 at the church. Bring a potluck dish to share. Everyone is welcome at all UCC activities.

Mark your calendar for the annual UCC bazaar including a hot soup lunch scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. You can enjoy outstanding items for sale and a celebrated hot soup lunch prepared by loving hands. Several Cheney churches have bazaars on the same day. Be sure to schedule lunch at UCC as part of your Christmas shopping trip.

United Methodist Church

Join us for worship each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church. This week the Rev. Alissa Bertsch-Johnson will continue a sermon based on “The Five Marks of a Methodist: The Fruit of a Living Faith.” This week’s mark is “A Methodist Rejoices in God.”

At noon there will be a special organ concert featuring selections from Phantom of the Opera and works by Bach. Our organist, Taylor Giese, will be presenting this Halloween concert. All are welcome.

Sunday school classes are at 8:30 and 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Find out about other study group opportunities by calling the church office at 235-4600.
