Newport tops Medical Lake in final seconds, 34-33

It was seen as Medical Lake’s best chance to earn its first football win of the 2015 season.

For 47 minutes and 40 seconds the Cardinals had Friday’s road game at Newport within their grasp and a happy bus ride home.

But the Grizzlies completed a rally from a 21-0 deficit, helped by inopportune penalties, and scored a 34-33 Northeast A League victory on Homecoming. Medical Lake never relinquished the lead until those final seconds.
