Medical Lake volleyball drops pair of matches

The streak was short lived at one game.

Medical Lake volleyball dropped a pair of Northeast A League matches last week to Chewelah (2-6 Northeast A, 2-7 overall) and Colville (5-3, 6-3) by identical 3-0 scores.

Chewelah’s win Oct. 6 came by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-14. Taylor Fritz topped Medical Lake (1-7, 1-8) with four aces and four blocks.

“Chewelah was a difficult game to lose,” head coach Kari Knowlton said. “We weren’t mentally prepared to battle with them.”

Knowlton had praise for Fritz. ”Taylor Fritz has been a consistent for our team, she shows up to each game ready to play.”
