After a successful home weekend that extended its winning streak to eight straight games, and improve its Big Sky Conference record to 4-0, the Eastern Washington University soccer team will head to Missoula, Mont., Friday, Oct. 9, to take on Montana. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
During last week’s games against Sacramento State and Portland State, the Eagles came out victorious, finishing on top of each team 3-1 and 1-0, respectively. After the two victories, the Eagles improved their overall season record to 10-1-1. This is the first time in program history that Eastern has recorded 10 wins during a single season.
During their match against the Hornets, sophomore Savannah Hoekstra recorded her first two goals of the season, just six minutes apart from each other, sending the Eagles into a 2-0 lead. Sophomore Chloe Williams, currently leading the Eagles in goals, recorded the third goal for the Eagles and her ninth goal of the season. She is currently ranked second overall in the Big Sky Conference for number of goals this season.
In their match against Portland State, senior Tasha Luu scores Eastern’s lone goal of the match and her second goal of the season.
Montana is currently 1-2-1 in conference play and 4-7-2 overall.
