St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Fellowship breakfast is Thursday at 7:30 a.m. Come, bring a friend and enjoy good fellowship. AA meeting every Saturday at 11 a.m. in the parish hall.

Attention all college students: Each Monday evening at 5 p.m. you are invited to join us for dinner, study and devotions. We are a group of college students and young adults who take our faith journeys seriously, seriously enough to show up and engage in ministry to and with each other. We are not necessarily all Episcopalians and we have no “litmus test” of belief to which you must subscribe. We believe it is important to take the time, in this busy age and culture, to stop, listen and come together for prayer, worship, study and meals.

For your contemplation: “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience,” Teilhard de Chardin. “The bodies we inhabit are husks we give back to God at the harvest along with the fruits of his love. Our growth is marked by the rich rings of successive seasons spent praising God, and serving neighbor,” Rev. Christine Soule.

United Church of Christ

This Sunday’s worship text will be Isaiah 55:6–13. The lesson will explore our temptation to forsake God’s way; and his mercy, pardon and forgiveness. A coffee hour will follow in the fellowship hall.

UCC men’s breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. at Cheney Care Center and women’s fellowship will meet in the church Fireside Foom following the service, both on Sept. 27.

World Communion Sunday is Oct. 4. UCC will have a special service that day and we hope you can join us at our usual time. Our communion is open to all.

Join our activities whenever you can. Dinner groups are forming. Choir rehearsal is at 7 p.m. each Thursday in the sanctuary. We support Feed Cheney which next meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Sutton Park Gazebo on Sept. 28. A social wellness walking group is beginning each Thursday at 9 a.m. It starts and ends at the UCC building. All walking levels/bases are welcome.

Two children’s and two adult Sunday school classes are being offered each Sunday morning. One adult class is following the book, “Revolution of Character: Discovering Christ’s Pattern for Spiritual Transformation.” This class begins at 8:30 a.m. All other classes begin at 9 a.m.
