Kupp shares Big Sky offensive player award

If there’s a better receiver at any level of college football, Cooper Kupp’s coach would like to see him.

The sensational Eastern Washington University junior wide receiver has been named by the Big Sky Conference as this week’s ROOT Sports co-Offensive Player of the Week after finishing with career highs of 15 catches for 246 yards — both Autzen Stadium records — in a 61-42 loss to Oregon on Sept. 5. He shared the offensive award with Northern Arizona receiver Emmanuel Butler.

With three touchdown receptions against the Ducks, Kupp now has 40 touchdown catches in his career, moving him from 19th to 12th in FCS history.

“I’d be shocked if you could show me a better receiver at any level in the country,” Eastern head coach Beau Baldwin said of the two-time consensus NCAA Football Championship Subdivision All-American

Kupp shared the award with Emmanuel Butler of Northern Arizona.
