Cardinal track teams looking forward to state qualifying

Medical Lake track will have wrapped up its dual meet season with an event at Colville May 13 and most likely finish third in the Northeast A regular season.

But Cardinals’ co head coach Gene Blankenship is looking ahead to District 7 competition at Freeman High School, May 22-23 as the true gauge for the season.

Medical Lake’s boys will likely dominate again in both sprints and distance event, and may also have qualifiers in the throws with Elijah Farmen. Blankenship sees the team, particularly the boys, emerging with a solid chance to defend the state title they won in 2014.
