Marjorie Jean Anderson

Marjorie Jean Anderson of Gig Harbor Wash., passed away April 12, 2015. She was 86.

Beloved daughter of the late Sophus and Hazel Anderson of Kalispell Mont. Devoted wife of 57 years to the late Robert (Bob) B. Anderson. Loving mother of Robert (Bruce) B. Anderson (Ellise) of Washougal Wash. and Kathryn Snider (Keith) of Gig Harbor Wash. Sister of Barbara Shern (Richard) of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Loving Grandmother of Richard Snider (Jaime), Jacob Snider (Yolanda), Larissa Anderson and Christopher Anderson, as well as two great-grandchildren, Allison and Michael Snider, and three nephews and their families.

She was a graduate of the University of Montana and Eastern Washington State College. Marjorie is considered the birth mother of women's athletics at Gonzaga University. She retired from Gonzaga in 1986 after holding the position of physical education chairperson.

A graveside memorial service will be held on May 16, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Cemetery on Government Way, Coeur d'Alene. A reception will follow at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Convention Center, 115 S. Second St. in Coeur d'Alene. Family, friends, former co-workers and students are kindly invited to attend.
