Cheney boys, girls golf each finish fourth
The Cheney High boys and girls golf teams resumed their season April 20 competing in the second Great Northern League tournament of the season at the Links Golf Course in Post Falls, Idaho. The boys finished fourth with 467 points while the girls also placed fourth with 140. For the girls’ team scores, the league used a modified Stableford scoring system, where the highest total of points wins instead of the lowest. The standard Stableford scoring was used for individual scores.
In individual scores, Cheney had three players finish in the top 10 with season best scores. Tyler Koohns finished third out of 28, with 82. Peter Condon tied for fifth with 84 and Matt Jones tied for eighth with 91.
Other scores for Cheney include: Ashton Tanzer, 91 and Nicholas Christianson with 98.
On the girls side, Cheyenne Marchand finished second out of 26 with 86. Marchand also finished ninth out of 61 at the April 16 East Valley invite, shooting an 87.
Other scores for Cheney include: Riley Klauss, 114; Gabbi Tibbets, 132; Kelsey Smith, 135; Hannah Lemelin, 145 and Gilliam Dorrance, 158.
The boys are scheduled to compete in the Liberty Lake Invite today (April 23). Both teams will play in the third GNL tournament April 28 at the Fairways Golf Course in Spokane.
