The Cheney girls tennis team saw their four-match winning streak snapped March 27 after a 5-2 loss to Greater Spokane League’s Lewis and Clark.
Katelynn Smedley and Bridget Calvert recorded the only two wins for Cheney. Smedley, at No. 1 singles, defeated Bryn Hanes (6-1, 7-5). Calvert remained undefeated for the season after she picked up a win over Alexandra Resanovic (6-0, 6-4).
Cheney’s March 24 match with Central Valley was canceled due to weather. The Blackhawks entered Great Northern League competition with a March 31 match against West Valley then played Ferris, April 1. They return to action April 14 when they travel to East Valley for a GNL match.
