The Cheney High baseball team was successful in its first week of Great Northern League play March 28 after they went 2-0 in their doubleheader against Clarkston, winning 11-3, 7-1.
The Blackhawks were hitting the ball hard in both games. Chance Gleave recorded three RBIs for the day while Cade VanWormer and Connor Pratt had two. Cameron Marchand, Kyle Jones and Harrison King each had one.
Clarkston’s pitching and fielding also contributed to Cheney’s run. In game one, the Blackhawks scored five runs on Bantam errors and walks.
