Luletta "Lue" Marie Gilk (Bright) passed away March 15, 2015 at home surrounded by loved ones after fighting a courageous five-year battle with cancer.
Luletta was born March 24, 1963 in Kimball, Neb. to Raymond and Vera Bright. In earlier years, she was raised in Dix, Neb. where she attended grade school. She then moved to Gaylord, Mich. and then on to Douglas, Wyo. where she graduated high school in 1981.
She married the love of her life, William E. Gilk Jr., July 4, 1992. They made their home in Cheney with their four lovely children after William retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Luletta was involved with Special Olympics Relay for Life and the Red Hat Society. In earlier years of her life, she loved to quilt and her favorite pastimes were bowling and spending time with her three grandkids.
Luletta is survived by her children, daughter Nicole (Dave) Zickler of Loon Lake, Wash.; sons, Nathan Gilk, James Gilk and Jacob Sheridan all of Spokane; brothers George (Deb) Bright, Steve (Patty) Bright of Sidney, Mont. and sister Carmella (Scott) of Douglas, Wyo. plus numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend, Kristie Tillman of Andrews, Tex.
Luletta was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Bright, mother Vera Bright and husband William E. Gilk Jr.
Services were held March 23 followed by interment at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.
