Helen Boots honored
Helen (Babb) Boots, a long-time Cheney resident will be honored with an open house sponsored by the Cheney Beta Sigma Phi on Saturday, March 28 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the United Church of Christ fellowship hall.
Everyone who lives and works in Cheney is invited to attend and shake this lady’s hand or at least say thank you for making Cheney, Cheney.
Feed Cheney March meal
On Monday March 30, Feed Cheney will offer the monthly dinner and groceries. It’s free and available to all, without any qualifying required. It all takes place at the Wren Pierson Community Center, 615 Fourth St. from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., and there will also be live entertainment.
The Cheney Clothing Exchange (clothing bank) will be open from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Feed Cheney is provided in partnership with Women and Children’s Free Restaurant, 2nd Harvest, Let’s Move Cheney and several Cheney churches.

Kiwanis Easter egg hunt
The Cheney Kiwanis invite folks to “hop on over” to their annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 4 at Salnave Park. The hunt begins precisely at 11 a.m. so don’t be late.
Toddlers to age 10 are welcome so bring a basket to put their plastic eggs filled with candy in. There’ll also be prizes for those who find the “golden egg” along with the Easter Bunny and lots of fun.
Feed ML upcoming meals
Feed Medical Lake’s second quarter menus are as follows: April 13, chicken-rice-peas casserole, salad and haystacks; May 11, taco salad, refried beans, Mexican cole slaw and churros; and June 8, hot dogs or sausage on bun, chips and ice cream sandwiches.
June 8 is also the fourth anniversary of Feed Medical Lake. Free groceries will be available. Meals are 5-6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St. Look for us in the “Garden of Eatin’.”
