Banged up Eagles limp into Big Sky lead

A battle-scarred Eastern Washington men's basketball team survived its biggest week of the season after all.

By holding off Sacramento State 64-61 Feb. 12, the Eagles got a crucial win in their quest to win the Big Sky Conference regular season championship and host the postseason tournament.

But when Portland State rallied to win 68-66 Saturday afternoon at Reese Court, the gains made Thursday appeared neutralized. However, after the University of Idaho hung a second straight loss on Sac State, 69-58 Saturday in Moscow, it returned Eastern to sole possession of the lead, albeit by a slim half...
