Feb. 9

Questionable text/photos were reported at Cheney High School.

Identity theft was reported on the 600 block of Irene Place.

Jarred C. Hopkins, 19, was arrested for third-degree theft on the 100 block of West First Street.

Possible child abuse or neglect was reported on the 800 block of West First Street.

Brandon P. Goyne, 20, was arrested for second-degree kidnapping/domestic violence on the 300 block of West First Street.

Feb. 10

Fourth-degree assault was reported on the 400 block of First Street.

An abandoned automobile was impounded on the 2700 block of Al Ogdon Way. The 2007 black Chevy Avalanche had been there since Feb. 3.

Financial fraud, a Craigslist-type scam, was reported at The Grove.

Marijuana was confiscated at Cheney Middle School from a student.

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 800 block of Sixth Street. A window was removed but no entry gained.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of West First Street. A backpack was stolen from a vehicle.

Third-degree theft was reported on the zero hundred block of Washington Court. A computer and miscellaneous personal items were stolen from a vehicle.

Feb. 11

Third-degree theft was reported at The Grove. A pair of ice skates were stolen from a vehicle earlier somewhere in Cheney.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 1100 block of Oakland Street. A bicycle was stolen.

Third-degree theft was reported at the Cheney Trading Company. A computer tablet was stolen from a vehicle.

Third-degree theft was reported at the Cheney Trading Company. Currency and cigarette papers were stolen from a vehicle.

Feb. 12

The Cheney Police Department assisted the Washington State Patrol on the 200 block of West Third Street while a trooper made a driving while under the influence arrest at a two-car, non-injury collision.

Obstructing was reported on the 300 block of Erie Street.

Dustin L.J. Leonard, 20, was arrested on a court commitment at the Cheney Municipal Court.

Identity theft was reported on the 700 block of Second Street. Someone was using the victim’s social security number and personal information to open accounts.

Feb. 13

Third-degree theft was reported on the 100 block of West First. A 12-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 1600 block of First Street. A car stereo and amplifier were stolen.

A debit card was found on the 400 block of North Sixth Street.

Feb. 14

A civil problem, dispute over property, was reported on the 300 block of Vine Street. A male had gifted a vehicle to a female while they lived together. After they broke up the male tried to take back the vehicle.

Disorderly conduct was reported on the 300 block of First Street. The bartender and bouncers at the business refused to press charges.

A tan bicycle was found on the 1000 block of Betz Road.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 1400 block of Third Street. Graffiti was found on stop signs and Dumpsters.

Theresa A. Randall, 32, was arrested at the Columbia Plateau Trailhead on Cheney-Spangle Road on two felony forgery warrants out of Spokane Superiors Court.

Feb. 15

Fourth-degree assault was reported on the 1000 block of Third Street.

Cynthia F. Rocha, 50, was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the 700 block of Betz Road.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2700 block of First Street. Clothes and personal items were taken from a vehicle.

A vehicle prowler was reported on the 100 block of Betz Road. Two vehicles were entered but nothing was taken.

A dark green bicycle was found on the 400 block of Betz Road.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 500 block of Clay Street. A checkbook was taken from a vehicle.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 500 block of Princeton Lane. A registration was taken from a vehicle.

Gregory J. Dehamer, 42, was arrested for harassment and fourth-degree assault/domestic violence on the 600 block of Clay Street.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Simpson Parkway. Speakers were taken from a vehicle.

Feb. 16

Second-degree assault was reported on the 800 block of Fifth Street. A beer bottle was broken over an individual’s head during a fight. Victim was treated for lacerations.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 1300 block of Third Street. A TV, VCR and video games were stolen.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 800 block of Fifth Street. Tires were slashed.

Third-degree theft was reported at the Ace Hardware/U-Haul. Gas was siphoned from a vehicle.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 1100 block of First Street. Eye drops were shoplifted.

A missing person was reported on the 100 block of I Street. The individual was located and advised to contact relatives.

MEDICAL LAKE

Feb. 10

Domestic violence was reported on the 100 block of North Walker Street.

Vehicle theft was reported on the 400 block of South Brower Street. The vehicle was later recovered.

Feb. 11

Incidents of theft and malicious mischief were reported on the 100 block of North Walker Street. A phone was stolen and broken.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on the 200 block of South Pine Street for first-degree malicious mischief, custodial assault and intent to escape. He was transported to the juvenile detention center in Spokane.

A domestic violence protection order violation was reported on the 500 block of South Legg Street.

Feb. 12

Abuse was reported on the 2300 block of South Salnave Road.

Feb. 14

Officers conducted a welfare check at Stanley Street and State Route 902. At the scene, officers arrested Frederick J. Nelson, 69, for third-degree malicious mischief/domestic violence.

A person with a weapon was reported on the 400 block of North Grant Avenue. There was a dispute over a purchase and a knife was displayed.
