St. John’s Pancake Supper
The Easter season begins at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St., Medical Lake on Feb. 19 with a pancake supper at 6 p.m.
Every Thursday during Lent there will be a soup and sandwich supper at 6 p.m. Holy Week starts with Palm Sunday service at 11 a.m. Seder supper on Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m. and Good Friday service at 7 p.m. and two services on Easter Sunday, 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. For more information contact (509) 299-4114.
Riverfront Park Job Fair
Spokane’s Riverfront Park is holding its 23rd annual Job Fair Saturday, Feb. 21 in the park’s Pavilion Theatre (former IMAX location) in the main pavilion area from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The event provides valuable information to those interested in spring and summer positions available at Riverfront along with Manito Park Bench, Merkel Sports Complex and Spokane’s aquatic facilities.

Cheney Book Club meeting
“Call of the Wild” by Jack London and “Charley’s Travels” by John Steinbeck are the books featured at the February meeting of the Book Discussion Group of the Friends of the Cheney Community Library. The group meets Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the library.
“Call of the Wild,” Jack London’s classic tale of man and dog in the Yukon is Spokane County Library’s “Big Read” in 2015. “Travels with Charley” is John Steinbeck’s account of his trip across America in 1962 in a van with his dog, Charley. His encounters with people and landscapes are described with his individual style.
