Moseley EWU’s new interim cross country, distance coach
Eastern Washington University has hired Camille Moseley as its new interim cross country and distance coach, replacing Chris Zeller who resigned Dec. 30.
Moseley will also coach the women’s and men’s cross country teams who placed fourth and sixth, respectively, at the 2014 BSC cross country championships – including the program’s first individual cross country champion, Sarah Reiter.
Moseley (formerly Gibb) is no stranger to the EWU track and field as she was a standout for Eastern in the distance events during the 2003-2008 seasons.
After graduating from Eastern in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in community health education, she accepted the position as the head girls’ cross country coach at Mt. Spokane High School where she coached for three years. Moseley has been the head girls’ track coach at Cheney Middle School since 2010, and became the assistant cross country coach at Cheney High School in 2012.
Moseley was selected as Eastern’s recipient of the Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2007-08 school year. During her time at Eastern, she was a perfect 12 for 12 on the league’s all-academic team – four each in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.

EWU football awards banquet is Saturday, Jan. 24
Recognizing the most successful three-year stretch of Eastern Washington University’s 106-year football history — and the fourth-best all-time in the Big Sky Conference — the annual EWU Football Awards Banquet will take place Saturday, Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. at the Pence Union Building Multipurpose Room.
Cost is $30 per person, and the event includes dinner and video productions and highlights from the 2014 season. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 509-359-2463. The deadline is Jan. 22 and no walk-ups will be accepted.
Team awards will be presented and other accomplishments acknowledged, including recognition of the team’s 19 seniors. That group of seniors were a part of three Big Sky Conference championships and a trio of playoff berths. Many were redshirts in 2010 when EWU won the NCAA Division I Championship, but running back Mario Brown did play as a true freshman that season and started in the title game.
Eastern won 27 of 32 Big Sky Conference games and 40 games overall in the last four years – 53 when including the 2010 season.
