Three losses drop Cheney into Great Northern cellar

The Cheney High School girls' basketball team came up short last week in their bid to move up in the standings of the Great Northern League. Instead, the Lady Blackhawks dropped all three of their road contests, including a 43-42 loss at Pullman Saturday night.

Cheney's balanced scoring helped them stake a 25-22 lead at the half, but a cold - or colder than the Greyhounds - third quarter led to a one-point deficit heading into the final eight minutes, and the Lady Blackhawks couldn't find that extra bucket for the win.
